Balancing motherhood and law school, she graduated #1 from Columbia Law.
Despite gender discrimination, became a successful lawyer who argued 6 (and won 5) important cases for gender equality before the Supreme Court as director of the Women’s Rights Project of the American Civil Liberties Union.
Only the 2nd woman ever nominated & to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court.
