While her parents converted and she was raised Christian, many in her extended Jewish family fell victim to the Nazis occupation during WWII.
Served as U.S. Ambassador to the UN.
Served as U.S. Secretary of State from 1997-2001, the first woman to hold that cabinet position.
She has written many books including: The Mighty and the Almighty.
Was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Obama.
