Nicknamed “Daisy” in school, she longed to be on outdoor adventures.
Met British Gen. Robt Baden-Powell, founder of the Boy Scouts, and they created a female version.
Originally called the Girl Guides, she began the first groups in Scotland & England. 
Then brought it to the U.S. & by 1913, had renamed her program the Girl Scouts.
Today it has 2.7 million members and is the largest educational organization in the world.
Given Presidential Medal of Freedom.
