Chef & TV personality, she introduced Americans to French cooking on her popular TV show “The French Chef.”
First thing she “cooked up” was shark repellent for the Navy used to keep curious sharks away from underwater weapons intended for German U-boats.
Credits a lunch in France for changing her life; joined a cooking club & started translating French recipes into English.
Her show won several Emmy Awards, the first time an educational program had won.
Established a charitable foundation and had a rose named after her.
“The only real stumbling block is fear of failure.”
