American scientist who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine.
She created the first genetic map of corn’s makeup and was the leader in the field of science called cytogenetics, the study of chromosomes & how they change during reproduction.
Well known for her research & theories about “jumping genes.”
Received the MacArthur Foundation Grant, also known as the “Genius Grant,” for her pioneering work in gene research.
“I never thought of stopping, and I just hated sleeping. I can’t imagine having a better life.”
