Born: January 14, 1953 in Virginia
Daughter of an army officer, she grew up having to move throughout the U.S.
She earned two masters degrees.
Was first female battalion commander of 82nd Airborne Division & then at Fort Bragg, NC, she became the first woman general in 2000.
Distinguished Service Medal recipient.
After 33 years of U.S. military service she was promoted to four-star General making her the first woman to ever achieve that rank.
