Founded National Women’s Party and Congressional Union and her actions led President Woodrow Wilson to make universal suffrage a priority.
Was arrested, imprisoned and force fed during her hunger strikes but would never back down.
The 19th amendment (women’s right to vote) was passed & ratified in 1920.
