  • Shawnee chief known for being a gifted speaker and skilled warrior.
  • United various tribes and formed an alliance with Great Britain to fight the U.S. in the War of 1812.
  • Also led “Tecumseh’s Rebellion” for control of the Indiana Territory (now the Great Lakes region) but ultimately lost to William Henry Harrison’s U.S. troops.
