Alexander Hamilton

Born January 11, 1757 on Nevis Island.

Died 1804

• Primary contributor to The Federalist Papers and founder of the Federalist Party, the first political party which favored a strong central government.

• Created our financial system and was the first Secretary of the Treasury.

• Founded the U.S. Coast Guard and New York Post

• Died in a duel with Aaron Burr.
