Saint Wenceslaus

Saint Wenceslaus
Author: Peter Parler – St. Vitus Cathedral, Prague
Born: 907 in Prague, present day Czech Republic
Died: 935
Duke of Bohemia (was pronounced King after his death), he was given a proper Christian education by his grandmother.
A faithful and devout man who was determined to set up Christian laws and principles as the basic foundation of the land.
Had to fight anti-Christian dissent within his own family, he was martyred at the hands of his own blood – his brother.
Always holy and forgiving, his final dying words were “May God forgive you, brother.”
