Was a courageous member of the Roman army where he hid his Christianity, quietly converting many non-believers to the faith.
Martyred during the Diocletian’s persecution of Christians, survived near-death execution attempt by Roman emperor’s archers who shot him full of arrows- but he survived.
Returned to warn emperor of repercussions of his sinfulness, who had him clubbed to death.
Patron saint of soldiers, archers, athletes and those wanting to die a holy death.
