Born: 387 in Britain
Died: 461
Patron saint of Ireland.
He was taken from his home in Britain by Irish pirates, forced into being a shepherd, tending to sheep.
In a dream, God told him to go near the sea and when he did, he was rescued by sailors. However, he later returned to Ireland.
Converted huge numbers of Irish to Christianity, using three-leaf clovers to teach the Holy Trinity.
Said: “Let anyone laugh and taunt if he so wishes. I am not keeping silent, nor am I hiding the signs and wonders that were shown to me by the Lord…”
