Made pilgrimage to Holy Land because he wanted to walk the same land as Jesus had.
Aided his fellow sailors through prayers during his travels.
Original “Santa Claus” for his reputation of secretly giving gifts. Once helped a poor father by dropping purses filled with gold coins down their chimney for the man’s 3 daughters.
During Christian persecution he was sent to prison.
Patron saint of sailors, merchants, children and repentant thieves.
