Nun, charity worker and caregiver to the world’s most vulnerable in the slums of Calcutta, India.
Became known as “Mother” to the world, she founded “Missionaries of Charity”answering Christ’s call to serve the poor, opening schools, clinics, orphanages.
She helped the homeless, hungry and hopeless. Always tried to convert the person she was serving to Christianity. A faithful servant to God, though she admitted even she sometimes doubted her faith.
Said, “Do not wait for leaders; do it alone, person to person.”
