Roman Centurion (soldier), who during the Crucifixion, pierced Jesus’ side with what is often called the “Holy Lance”.
Testified: “Indeed this was the Son of God.” (Mark 15:39) and he converted to Christianity and became a monk.
Historical accounts say blood flowing from Jesus’ pierced side fell upon his eyes curing his blindness.
Bravely chose to suffer and was martyred and killed by Roman soldiers when he refused to flee or renounce his faith.
