Saint Frances Cabrini

Born: 1850 in Italy

Died: 1917

Took vows to become a member of the ‘Daughters of the Sacred Heart’ religious order at age 18. 

She was sent to USA by Pope Leo XIII to open schools, orphanages and hospitals to serve and help the poor Italian-American population.

Patron saint of immigrants and missionaries, and was the first US citizen to be canonized.

Said, “Today love must not be hidden…It must be living, active and true!”
