Saint Clare

Born: 1193 in Italy

Died: 1253

From a wealthy family but instead embraced a life of poverty.

First called to help the poor by setting aside food from her family’s table to help feed the hungry. 

Followed St. Francis of Assisi and founded the Order of Poor Ladies.

Warded off soldiers attacking her convent by kneeling and praying with the Blessed Sacrament (the consecrated body & blood of Christ in the Eucharist).

Strangely she’s the patron saint of TV. Why? Because when she was sick, she said she could see and hear Mass on the wall in her room.
