Italian monk who founded 12 communities for monks in Italy.
His “Rule of Saint Benedict” contains guidelines for the spiritual life of those who follow Christ and focus on obedience, moderation and humility.
A “Cross” bearing his name is a medal Christians use to have power over evil, sometimes using it alongside the Rosary. 
Patron saint of Europe.
Believed in an active mind and body saying: “Idleness is an enemy of the soul” and “The sleepy like to make excuses.”
