Mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the grandmother of Jesus.  Patron saint of unmarried women, housewives, women in labor and grandmothers. 

She and her husband Joachim were sterile and childlessness, but prayed and promised God that, if blessed with a child, they would dedicate their child to the service of the Lord…

And then came the
miracle of Mary!
