One of the most well-traveled leaders in history, he visited 129 countries as Pope.

He’s seen as playing an important role in ending Communist rule in Poland and all of Europe.

Worked to improve relationships between different religions calling for Christians, Jews and Muslims to live together peacefully; was 1st Pope to go in & pray in a mosque.

Said: “Social justice cannot be attained by violence. Violence kills what it intends to create.”
