Struggled reading orchestral scores but nonetheless holds the Guiness World Record for most curtain calls! 

His stunning rendition of “Nessun dorma,” by Giacomo Puccini, became the soundtrack for the FIFA World Cup.

Awarded 5 Grammys and a Kennedy Center Honor in 2001.
