Formed 1965 in Palo Alto, CA- 

Founding members Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Ron McKernan and Bill Kreutzmann played eclectic music spanning blues, country, jazz, rock, folk, bluegrass and reggae.

Iconic images associated with them are Steal Your Face and Dancing Bears and the timeless songs “Sugar Magnolia,” “Touch of Grey,” “Casey Jones” and “Ripple.”

Known for epic live performances where their adoring, tie-dye wearing fans were allowed to record their shows.
