Grew up in Trench Town, considered the Motown of Jamaica, and recorded Legend, the best-selling reggae album of all time.

A gifted lyricist, his 1st hit single “Simmer Down” was recorded with the Wailers “Bunny” Livingston & Peter Tosh.

Other global hits include “Get Up Stand Up,” “I Shot The Sheriff” and “Buffalo Soldier.”

Practiced Rastafari and recorded the seminal album Exodus about his Pan-Africanist beliefs.
