One of the greatest champions of all time, the “Brown Bomber” was boxing’s world heavyweight champion from 1937-1949.

He served in the same U.S. Army unit as Jackie Robinson.

A national hero after his knockout of Germany’s Max Schmeling, he had a pro hockey arena named after him and was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal.

“You need a lot of different types of people to make the world better.”
