During the Cuban Revolution in 1959, her father moved the family to Miami.

A member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame with hits including “Let it Loose” and “Conga.”

“The Queen of Latin Pop” is also a successful actress and businesswoman who wrote 2 children’s books, which made the New York Times best sellers list.

Formed a foundation with a mission to support charitable programs that empower young people and promote education and opportunity for disadvantaged children.

Awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2015.
