Using humor to address racism and anti-semitism, his all-time classics include All in the Family, Sanford and Son, One Day At A Time and The Jeffersons.

His shows introduced edgy social and political themes into sitcoms which were revolutionary at the time.

Member of the Television Academy Hall of Fame who won 6 Emmys and 2 Peabody Awards.
