Known as the “Hebrew Hammer,” he was the first Jewish player elected to the MLB Hall of Fame.  

The 1st Jewish sports superstar, he spent Yom Kippur at the synagogue rather than playing that day after consulting with his Rabbi.

A natural home run slugger, he clobbered 58 homers in 1938 and was a 2-time AL MVP and World Series champion with the Detroit Tigers.

1st MLB player to serve in the military, he was a Sergeant after being an anti-tank gunner.
