The first woman to serve as a Justice of The United States Supreme Court, serving from her 1981 Ronald Reagan appointment until retirement in 2006.
Known to thoughtfully follow the intentions of the Constitution.
Strongly opposed Republicans call to reverse the Roe v. Wade decision, she was the deciding vote needed to uphold the court’s earlier decision.
Has campaigned to abolish elections for judges, believes merit system leads to more fair & responsible justice.
Said: “Do the best you can in every task, no matter how unimportant it may seem… No one learns more about a problem than the person at the bottom.”
