Stunt performer & Illusionist, known for his amazing escape acts, he first attracted attention in Vaudeville.
His escapes included chains, ropes, straitjackets, even escaped holding breath in sealed milk can filled w/H2O.
Pushed the limits – one stunt had him buried alive, able to escape but was near breakdown.
He worked to keep the professional standards of his art exposing any fraudulent artists, quick to sue anyone who imitated his escape acts.
Also made a few movies but quit acting when it didn’t make him money.
Has star on Hollywood Walk of Fame.
