Served as General & Commander in-Chief of colonial armies during American Revolution.

Famously crossed Delaware River during winter, defeating British in battles of Trenton & Princeton.

Awarded Congressional Gold Medal.

His face is on $1 bill & Mt. Rushmore.

Father gave him a hatchet as 6, then famously cut down a cherry tree, bravely admitted to dad:, “I cannot tell a lie… I did cut it with my hatchet.”

Said: “Associate with men of good quality if you esteem your own reputation; for it is better to be alone than in bad company.”
