He was the first African American tennis player ever selected to be on the US Davis Cup team.
Won 3 Grand Slams of tennis, the only black man to win a singles title at the US Open, Wimbledon & the Australian Open.
Contracted HIV from a blood transfusion during heart surgery; he started foundation to help fight AIDS, by raising awareness to educate yourself about the virus and learn about protecting oneself.
Awarded Presidential Medal of Freedom.
