Born November 30, 1935 in The Bronx, NY

Writer, filmmaker, director and actor, he has produced over 50 movies and won numerous awards, including 4 Academy Awards.

Best known for Annie Hall, for which he won Best Director and Best Original Screenplay, but also hits such as Manhattan, Zelig, The Purple Rose of Cairo, and Crimes and Misdemeanors.

Critics Siskel and Ebert called him one of America’s funniest filmmakers.

While hilariously funny, his films are thought-provoking and get to the essence of personal relationships.

He’s also an author and musician, having played jazz clarinet with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
